TRAC 11-24 is a North Wales programme led by Denbighshire County Council, working with all the North Wales local authorities and colleges to support young people aged 11 to 24 who are at risk of leaving education without work or training. I produced this series of case study films for them in 2021.
Each film follows one young person the programme has supported. The brief was to put lived experience ahead of statistics, so the films are built on interviews with the young people themselves.
The series was made to support the case for the programme’s continued funding.
The job ran across two academic years. The films were made one at a time, as each local team found a young person willing to take part – two in the east of the region first, then Anglesey and Conwy the following spring. With a funding deadline in June we had to be straight with the council about what could realistically be delivered in time, and the schedule was rebuilt around the teams that were ready.
